The Boston College women's golf team is tied in seventh place with Louisville and Notre Dame at +10 after the first round of the 2017 ACC Women's Golf Championship on Thursday afternoon at The Reserve Golf Club at Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
The ACC Championship is a three-day event with 12 ACC teams in Pawleys Island. The course is a par 72 played at 6,192 yards.
The Eagles posted a 298 along with Louisville and Notre Dame. Duke leads the tournament at -4 (284) after the first round. Miami is second at -3 (285) while FSU, UNC and Clemson are tied in third at -1 (287). NC State is alone in sixth by one stroke at +9 (297).
BC rookie Lois Kaye Go leads the Eagles as she sits in 15th place at even par (72). Go was even after nine holes. After a par on 10, Go lost a stroke on 11 but bounced back with a birdie on 14. Go lead all golfers with 16 pars on the day.
Junior Jocelyn Chia is just a stroke behind Go as she is tied in 18th with a 73 on the day. Chia finished the back nine at -1 with birdies on 16 and 18.
Sophomore Ailin Li finished with a 76 and is tied in 37th while sophomore Katie Kim finished the round with a birdie on 18 for a +5 and tied in 43rd place. Junior Katie Barrand is tied in 52st with a +7.
The Eagles will tee off in the second wave on Friday at 8:50 a.m. along with Notre Dame and Louisville. Barrand will open the day followed by Kim, Li, Chia and Go.
