
Spring Season Opens at Murphy Cup

The Eagles will put five boats on the water in four events Saturday.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College rowing team kicks off its spring season this Saturday, March 25, in Philadelphia, Pa., when the Eagles compete at the 35th Memorial Murphy Cup Regatta.

This is the Eagles' first competitive action since the Foot of the Charles Regatta on November 12. This is the first of seven events leading up to the ACC Championships held in Clemson, S.C., on May 14.

The Eagles will have five boats competing in four events on the Schuylkill River. In the Varsity Eight, BC will compete against 25 teams, including No. 17 Pennsylvania and Boston rival Northeastern. BC is one of eight teams to race two boats among the 30-boat field in the Junior Varsity Eight event. BC's fours will participate in the Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four events.

Preliminary heats start at 8:30 a.m., with the Second Varsity Four event and will continue throughout the morning with the finals taking place from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. Â
