FIRST GOAL (1-0 – BC) SECOND PERIOD – Julius Mattila – 1:58 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Boston College struck first just under two minutes into the second period. Jesper Mattila broke up a play in the Eagles' end and connected with Scott Savage in the neutral zone. Julius Mattila flew down the right side, accepted Savage's pass and beat BU's Jake Oettinger with a wrister just above the right dot at 1:58 for the 1-0 BC lead.
SECOND GOAL (2-0 – BC) SECOND PERIOD – Ryan Fitzgerald – 13:21 – SHORT-HANDED
• Austin Cangelosi took a holding penalty at 12:39 of the second period but the Eagle penalty kill turned it into a 2-0 lead midway through the kill. Savage generated the play down low, connecting with Christopher Brown on BC's blue line. Ryan Fitzgerald slipped past one Terrier, corralled Brown's pass and attempted a long-distance shot from the right circle. Fitzgerald's wrister beat Oettinger short-side at 13:21 for the short-handed goal and a 2-0 lead.
THIRD GOAL (3-0 – BC) THIRD PERIOD – Ryan Fitzgerald – 00:58 – EVEN STRENGTH
• R. Fitzgerald pounced on the Terriers right out of the chute on a bang-bang play out front. Matthew Gaudreau generated the play, hitting Brown with the puck on the left post and R. FOURTH GOAL (3-1 – BU) THIRD PERIOD – Jordan Greenway – 17:36 – EXTRA ATTACKER
• Boston University controlled the puck in the offensive zone late in the third. Clayton Keller gained the puck in the corner and worked it out in front of the net with a light saucer pass, which was tipped in by Jordan Greenway, past BC netminder Joseph Woll, on the far side of the net, to make it a 3-1 affair with 2:24 to go.
