BC Cracks Top 10 in Men's GS at NCAA Regional Championships

The Boston College ski team traveled to Rumford, Maine, for the NCAA Regional Ski Championships on Feb 24-25. The men's team placed eighth overall in the giant slalom and placed 12th in the slalom. The women's team placed 10th in the slalom and 12th in the giant slalom.

- Junior Carter Robertson led the Eagles in the GS, where he placed 16th overall out of 49 competitors. Over his two runs in the event, he recorded a total time of 1:16.25.
- Junior teammate Jak Kennedy placed 26th in the same event with a total time of 1:18.52.
- Senior Ryan Barney and junior Trevor Lennox also raced in the GS; the pair finished 34th and 38th, respectively. Barney recorded a total time of 1:20.24 and Lennox recorded a 1:21.35.
- In the women's slalom, senior Bug Pech placed 31st out of 60 finishers with a total time of 2:09.21 over her two runs.
- Sophomore Dannica Ashnault finished just behind Pech in 34th place with a total time of 2:11.67.
- Sophomore Amanda Steffey and senior Kristie Ryan also raced in the slalom, finishing 42nd and 44th, respectively. Steffey earned a total time of 2:15.50 and Ryan finished at 2:16.73.
- Rounding out the pack in the women's slalom was sophomore Natalie Wetmore and junior Maggie Gilligan. Wetmore recorded a 2:19.51 and a 51st place finish, while Gilligan finished close behind in 58th (2:39.90).
- In the men's slalom, senior Ryan Barney finished first for the Eagles in 28th place out of 46 competitors with a total time of 2:04.30. Junior Brian Mangiacotti also raced along with Robertson and Lennox. Mangiacotti placed 35th (2:10.28), Robertson placed 42nd (2:21.62), and Lennox finished in 45th (2:31.93).
- In the women's giant slalom, Steffey led the Eagles with a 38th/70 place finish and a time of 1:19.31.
- Pech, Ashnault, and Wetmore also raced in the slalom. Pech finished 56th (1:22.07), Ashnault finished 60th (1:23.41), and Wetmore finished 64th (1:25.01).
- The NCAA Skiing Championships will be held from March 8-11 in Jackson, N.H.
