Senior Day | Sunday, Feb. 19 | 2 p.m. | Kelley Rink at Conte Forum | Chestnut Hill, Mass.
SENIOR WEEKEND
- This weekend's games will be the Eagles' seniors' final regular-season games of their careers
- BC will honor its five seniors - three players and two managers - on Sunday in a pregame ceremony
EAGLES' SPREAD OFFENSE
- BC's offense is one of the nation's most varied, claiming 11 players who've recorded at least 10 points ... that's tied for the third-most nationally behind Wisconsin (15) and Clarkson (12)
- There are seven Eagles who've collected 20 or more points, which is the nation's second-most behind Colgate's 8
- BC also has five players who have scored at least 10 goals, a figure that's tied for second nationally behind Boston University's six 10-goal scorers
- The nine Eagles with 10 or more assists rank second nationally, behind Wisconsin's 12
- Additionally, BC has four players who have collected at least 10 goals and 10 assists, a figure that's third-most nationally behind BU (6) and Colgate (5)
PWR WATCHING
- The Eagles will be trying to maximize their impact on the PairWise Rankings this weekend as potential hosting rights in the NCAA Tournament are up for grabs in a very close race and the postseason on deck
- BC will enter the weekend at No. 5, with teams No. 2 through 6 jam-packed: No. 2 Minnesota-Duluth, No. 3 Minnesota, No. 4 St. Lawrence and No. 6 Clarkson
- In the RPI Ratings - a component of the PairWise Ratings - less than four one-hundredths of a point separate teams Nos. 3 (.6080) through 6 (.6047)
- The NCAA will deal automatic berths to the NCAA Tournament to the nation's four conference tournament winners: College Hockey America, ECAC, Hockey East and WCHA ... the other four spots in the bracket will go to the highest-rated at-large teams in the PWR
- Wisconsin will play two at Minnesota this weekend, while Clarkson and St. Lawrence will each host Colgate and Cornell ... Minnesota Duluth hosts St. Cloud State for two
MEGAN KELLER: RARE D-MAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
- Junior All-America defenseman Megan Keller drew Hockey East Player of the Week honors on Monday after a stellar three-game stretch last week ... she is the only defenseman to earn the league's Player of the Week award this season
- The 5-11 blue liner made a career-high 8 blocks and helped hold Northeastern to just 20 shots on their home ice in the Beanpot Championship game in which the Eagles played only four defensemen because of injuries
- On Sunday, Keller posted a career-high five points (two goals, career-high three assists) to lead BC past Vermont, 7-1 ... she also helped the Eagles limit the Catamounts to just 17 shots
- This is Keller's first-ever HEA Player of the Week honor, and her second weekly award of the year after copping HEA Defensive Player of the Week honors on Jan. 23
KELLER SITTING ATOP NATIONAL DMAN STATS ... AGAIN
- Junior U.S. National Team member Megan Keller is again sitting atop the national defenseman scoring charts
- Her 29 points, 1.07 points per game and 0.81 assists per game marks lead all defensemen nationally
- Keller has 29 points in 27 games from seven goals and 22 assists ... her 22 assists are the most nationally among defensemen and are tied for 12th nationally among all skaters
- Keller missed four games in October and November while helping the U.S. win the gold medal at the Four Nations Cup ... despite that fact, her 29 points still lead Clarkson's Savannah Harmon's 27 points in 32 games
- Keller led all defenseman in points (52), assists per game (0.98) and points per game (1.27) in 2015-16 in 41 games
CONNOLLY GETS HER DUE AFTER CHANGING ROLES ... AGAIN
- Erin Connolly has seen her role change dramatically this year - going from defenseman to forward, from third-line center to fill-in first-line center - and she's thrived in among the change
- After a position change from defense to forward seven games into the season, Connolly had to fill in on the blue line for four games (Jan. 21 - Feb. 3) because of injuries
- She switched back to the third line center for the Beanpot Championship game, in which she scored the game-winning goal and claimed Beanpot MVP honors
- More injuries led to her elevation to the first line last Sunday and she again found the goal with her second tally of the week
- After leading all Hockey East freshmen in goals last week with two, Connolly earned her first-ever HEA weekly award and was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week
KENT HITS THE MAGIC 100 MARK
- Last Sunday, Kenzie Kent became the 15th player in program history to reach the 100-point mark
- She entered the Eagles' game against Vermont with 99 points, and scored two goals to hit the magic mark
- She now has 101 career points and ranks 15th in career scoring at BC, just one point back of 14th-place Emily Pfalzer '15, who had 102 career points
THE EAGLES' NEXT CENTURIAN
- One more Eagle is making a push for 100 career points this season after passing 75 points last season
- Kristyn Capizzano comes into the weekend with 99 career points ... when she collects her next point, she will be the 16th player to reach the 100-point plateau in BC history
- Makenna Newkirk (85 points) has an outside chance of reaching 100 points this year as a sophomore
FABULOUS FRESHMEN
- Boston College has two freshman who have each scored at least 25 points this season: Caitrin Lonergan (29) and Delaney Belinskas (28)
- BC is one of six programs in the country with a 25-point (or more) freshman scorer
- Additionally, the Eagles are the only team nationally that has TWO freshmen who have both scored at least 20 points … the 13 freshmen nationally who have reached the 20-point plateau come from 12 schools
- Of the 13 freshmen 20-point scorers, seven are from Hockey East, three from the ECAC, one from the CHA and two from the WHCA
BURT NOW IN RANGE OF HOCKEY EAST WINS RECORD
- Katie Burt is moving up a host of goaltender career wins charts as she enters the weekend with 85 career wins and the BC career wins mark already in hand
- Burt is now tied for ninth place on the NCAA career wins chart, matching former BU goaltender Kerrin Sperry '14 ... former UNH goaltender Melissa Bourdon '07 sits in eighth with 86 wins
- As a junior, Burt is the second-winningest active goaltender in the NCAA, behind Wisconsin's Ann-Renee Desbiens (95), who is a senior
- With 50 career wins in conference play, Burt is also two wins back of the Hockey East career wins record (52), held by Bourdon ... she comes into the weekend tied with Sperry in second place (50 wins)
- Burt claimed the Boston College wins record as her own on Jan. 21 with a 3-0 shutout at Vermont ... it was her 81st career victory and passed Molly Schaus '11, who had 80 wins in her four seasons
- Schaus had 20-, 14-, 22- and 24-win seasons at The Heights to set the record at the end of her career in 2010-11 ... in her almost three-year career, Burt has 30- and 35-win seasons and 20 wins so far this year
SUPER SOPH
- Makenna Newkirk was the runner-up for the AHCA National Freshman of the Year award in 2015-16, and has continued that pace this season
- This year, she is the nation's fourth-leading sophomore scorer, and one of only four sophomores nationally with at least 30 points
- Newkirk is the Eagles' leading scorer with 36 points in 30 games (1.20ppg) ... in 2015-16, she had 49 points in 41 games (1.20 ppg) to rank second among all freshmen nationally
- Newkirk has stood out in conference play this season, ranking second in league games with 28 points in 21 games (1.33ppg)
- Her 19 assists in HEA games are tied with teammate Megan Keller for the conference lead, and her 12 power-play points are most in the league
- When Newkirk scores a goal this year, BC is 7-1-1 ... the Eagles are 15-1-1 when she tallies an assist
CROWLEY COULD MATCH HOCKEY EAST CAREER WINS MARK THIS WEEKEND
- Katie Crowley is approaching the Hockey East coaching career wins mark (league games)
- Current Providence coach Bob Deraney claimed the record last Saturday, passing former UNH coach Brian McCloskey ... however, Crowley is close behind and could end the year in a share of the lead if the Eagles sweep their series with PC this weekend
           1.        Bob Deraney, Providence (2002-present) - 154 wins
           2.        Brian McCloskey, UNH (2002-13) - 153 wins
           3.        Katie Crowley, BC (2007-present) - 152 wins
           4.        Bob Durocher, BU (2005-present) - 150 wins
Â
ROAD WARRIORS THIS YEAR
- Of Boston College's 22 wins, 13 have come away from home this year in either road or neutral games
- BC's 13 wins away from home rank third nationally, behind St. Lawrence and Wisconsin's 14 apiece
- The Eagles have played 16 away games this season to just 13 home games and two neutral-site contests
MAN-ADVANTAGE STREAKS INTO WEEKEND LOOKING TO MATCH PROGRAM RECORD
- Boston College has scored PPGs in each of the last five games, one shy of its program-record (and season-best) six-game streak
- Six games is the program's longest streak with a power-play goal, a feat the Eagles have achieved four times prior: Sept. 30 - Oct. 15, 2016 (12-for-30) ... Oct. 18 - Nov. 7, 2015 (8-for-22) ... Nov. 18 - Nov. 24, 2013 (9-for-25) ... Jan. 9 - Jan. 29, 2009 (8-for-24)
ANASTOS CRACKS HOCKEY EAST CAREER SCORING TOP 10
- Andie Anastos is currently tied for 10th place on the Hockey East career points chart, matching UConn's Jaclyn Hawkins '08 who had 94 points
- Anastos is two points back of ninth-place Kelly Patton (UNH '10), who had 96 career points ... she is also four points back of eight place: Sadie Wright-Ward (UNH '08) who had 100 Hockey East points
- Anastos is the fourth Eagle to crack Hockey East's career scoring Top 10 ... Alex Carpenter is second (160 pts.), Haley Skarupa is third (141 pts.) and Kelli Stack is fourth (131 pts.)
BURT STANDS TALL IN CONFERENCE PLAY, BUT GETS LITTLE RESPECT
- Katie Burt is Hockey East's back-to-back Goaltending Champion and has already started setting some of the conference's career records, but she has yet to be voted to the conference's All-Star First Team in either of her collegiate seasons
- She was a Hockey East All-Star second-team honoree as a freshman and honorable mention last year
- She is now 50-3-4 in league play with a career GAA of 1.12 with a .943 save percentage and a league-record 20 conference shutouts
- Burt's 50 conference wins are just two shy of the league's record of 52, held by Melissa Bourdon, UNH '07
- She has backed Hockey East's top defense the last two years and led the conference in GAA, wins, save percentage and shutouts in both of her collegiate seasons
HOCKEY EAST QUARTERFINAL SERIES ANNOUNCED
