- Boston College finished the 2017 season with a 27-20 loss to Iowa in the 2017 New Era Pinstripe Bowl. The Eagles won five of their final seven games of the season to end the year 7-6 overall and 4-4 in the ACC.
- The 2017 New Era Pinstripe Bowl marked the 26th bowl appearance in school history. The Eagles are 14-12 all-time in bowl games.
- Boston College totaled 281 yards of total offense in the first half. It was the most yards allowed in the first half this season by Iowa.
- Iowa won the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
- Boston College turned the ball over three times and Iowa held a 10-0 advantage in points off turnovers in the win. BC entered the game 19th nationally in turnover margin (0.67 per game). Iowa did not commit a turnover in the seven-point victory.
- At kickoff, the temperature was 23 degrees, the coldest game of the season for the Eagles.

- True freshman running back AJ Dillon ended the season with 1,589 rushing yards. He finished second in ACC history for the most yards by a freshman back and finished fourth in BC single-season history.

- Dillon finished the season tied for sixth in BC single-season history with 14 rushing touchdowns.
- Dillon rushed for 100 yards in the first half for the fourth consecutive game. He ended the day with 157 rushing yards on 32 carries, marking his seventh 100-yard game of the season.
- Junior tight end Tommy Sweeney had a career day, recording seven receptions, 137 receiving yards and a career-long, 48-yard catch. He led BC in touchdown receptions (four) and receiving yards (512).
Defense
- Sophomore linebacker Davon Jones recorded a career-high nine tackles and tallied his second tackle for a loss in as many games. He converted to linebacker from running back during the 2017 season.
- Junior linebacker Kevin Bletzer recorded his first career solo sack.
- Junior defensive end Zach Allen recorded his team-leading sixth sack of the season. Allen finished the game with seven tackles, and totaled 100 tackles on the season from his defensive end position.
- Junior strong safety Will Harris tied for the team lead with nine tackles.
Special Teams
- Junior Colton Lichtenberg was 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts, connecting from 30 and 24 yards.
