- Boston College scored 42 points, the most against Syracuse in series history (51 games) as the Eagles cruised to a 42-14 victory over the Orange.Â
- The victory marked the first at the Carrier Dome for head coach Steve Addazio and the first victory for the Eagles since 2010.
- BC totaled 581 yards of total offense for the third time this season and the seventh time under head coach Steve Addazio.Â
- Head coach Steve Addazio will be the first coach in Boston College history to lead the Eagles to four bowl games in the first five years as head coach.Â
- BC has scored 35+ points in a game five times this season, the most since 2007 when the Eagles also completed the feat five times.
- Boston College scored two touchdowns on its opening two drives in the first quarter and a touchdown on the opening drive of the second half. Freshman running back AJ Dillon scored all three times on the drives for the Eagles.
- The Eagles' four ACC wins ties for the most under Addazio. They also recorded four in 2013 and 2014.
Offense
- True freshman running back AJ Dillon score a 22-yard touchdown on his first carry of the game for BC's first score on the day.Â
- Dillon scored three touchdowns on the day to move into a tie for ninth place in BC single-season history with 13 rushing touchdowns.
- Dillon went over the century mark in the first half for the sixth time this season. He finished the day with 193 yards. He has two 200-yard rushing games in 2017.
- Junior wide receiver Jeff Smith scored a 64-yard touchdown on a jet sweep, the second-longest rushing attempt of Smith's career. He has three 60+ yard runs as an Eagle, including a career-long 80-yard rushing TD against No. 4 Notre Dame in 2015.
- Graduate student quarterback Darius Wade threw for 248 yards, a new career high, as he finished the afternoon 16-for-20 passing with one touchdown and no interceptions.
- True freshman running back Travis Levy scored on a career-long 46-yard touchdown reception. It was the first touchdown of his career.
Defense
- Junior strong safety Will Harris recovered a lateral and returned the fumble 30 yards for his first touchdown of his career. It was the third non-offensive touchdown scored by BC this season.
- Harris also recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter caused by senior linebacker Ty Schwab. It was the fourth recovery for Harris this season and the first forced fumble of Schwab's career.
- Junior free safety Lukas Denis recorded his team-leading seventh interception in the second quarter. He is now tied for fourth on BC's single-season record list. Denis entered the game second nationally and first in the ACC in interceptions.
- Redshirt freshman linebacker John Lamot missed today's game with a knee injury. Sophomore Davon Jones made his first career start at linebacker after moving earlier in the season from running back. Jones recorded a career-high eight tackles, including a tackle for a loss of three yards.
- Junior defensive back Taj-Amir Torres tallied a career-high nine tackles, including five solo stops and one for a loss of one yard.
