Team
- No. 23 NC State took the lead with 8:11 remaining in the fourth quarter and held off Boston College 17-14 Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium. The loss snapped BC's three-game winning streak in ACC play.
- BC still leads the all-time series, 9-6, and 6-3 at home, against the Wolfpack.
- Redshirt freshman quarterback Anthony Brown (knee) and senior captain cornerback Kamrin Moore (upper body) were injured in the second quarter and did not return to the game.
Offense
- True freshman running back AJ Dillon became BC's all-time leading freshman rusher with 1,039 rushing yards after logging 196 on the day. Dillon scored the game's first touchdown on a 66-yard touchdown run, his second-longest carry of the season.
- Dillon eclipsed Montel Harris' BC freshman rushing record of 920 yards in 13 games during the 2008 season.
- Dillon now has four career 100-yard games and 1,039 rushing yards on the season.
- Dillon is the 12th freshman in ACC history to run for 1,000 yards in a season. He is ninth in ACC history with 1,039 rushing yards for a freshman.Â

- Dillon is the first BC player to rush for over 1,000 yards since graduate quarterback Tyler Murphy accumulated 1,320 in 2014.
- Dillon has 221 rushing attempts this season, the most of any Boston College freshman in school history. The previous best by a rookie running back at BC was Jon Hilliman in 2014 (210 rushing attempts). Dillon finished with 36 carries against the Wolfpack, his second-highest total in a single-game this season.
- Senior Thadd Smith scored his third touchdown of the season on a 12-yard run with 11 seconds left in the third quarter. It was his second on the ground in 2017 and the fifth TD of his career.
Defense
- Junior defensive end Zach Allen led the Eagles with nine tackles, including five solo stops, on the day. He also assisted on a tackle for loss and had two pass breakups.
- Redshirt freshman John Lamot led BC with 1.5 tackles for loss and was second on the team with seven total tackles. He had four solo stops.
- Senior All-America defensive end Harold Landry missed his second career game (second consecutive) due to an ankle injury. Junior Wyatt Ray started in his place.
