Boston College won its fourth-straight contest on the backs of freshmen Aapeli Rasanen, Logan Hutsko and Christopher Grando
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Two freshmen each recorded two goals in a gritty road victory on Friday night, silencing a soldout Gutterson Fieldhouse, 4-3, thanks to a late game-winning marker by Aapeli Rasanen.
Rasanen and teammate Logan Hutsko both had breakout performances in their 11th games in the maroon and gold. Hutsko also scored a pair of goals, along with an assist, for BC's first three-point performance of the night. Rasanen's game winner occurred at 16:54 of the third period.
Boston College outshot Vermont, 45-21, for the most shots recorded this season and most since the Eagles blasted 59 shots at Ferris State on Dec. 30, 2016.
Sophomore netminder Joseph Woll won his fourth game of the season, leveling out his record to 4-4-1 after stopping 18 shots.

- Logan Hutsko recorded Boston College's second multi-goal game of the season (Casey Fitzgerald – at Providence – Oct. 15) and first three-point performance of any Eagle of 2017-18. For Hutsko, it marks his second-career multi-point game and first ever with a goal and an assist. The Tampa, Fla. native now leads Boston College in points scored with three goals and six assists thus far.
- Aapeli Rasanen followed suit after Hutsko and scored a pair goals, as well. Both goals counted for his first and second tallies as an Eagle while his marker with 3:06 left to play in the third will be his first-career game-winning goal in the maroon and gold. The Tampere, Finland native now has six points (2-4-6) on the season.
- Christopher Grando tallied his first-career multi-point performance with a pair of primary assists on Friday night.
- The Grando – Rasanen – Hutsko line accounted for seven points (4-3-7) on Friday night at Gutterson Fieldhouse and all finished with a +3 rating on the night.
- Boston College has been involved in five one-goal games this season and owns a 4-1 record in those instances.
- Boston College's defense jumped on the score sheet as Casey Fitzgerald, Connor Moore and Luke McInnis all registered assists on Friday night.
- Boston College is winners of four-straight games, the first time since string together four victories last season from Jan. 20 to Feb. 4, 2017. The Eagles are three points clear of New Hampshire for first place in the league thus far.

FIRST GOAL (1-0 – Vermont) FIRST PERIOD – Max Kaufman – 4:35 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Boston College killed off an early penalty but the Catamounts attacked first once 5-on-5 play resumed. Owen Grant quarterbacked the play down low, up to Jake Massie atop the right circle. Massie released the pass to the other circle where Max Kaufman gathered it and zipped it past Joseph Woll on the quick release 4:35 into regulation for the 1-0 Vermont lead.
FIRST GOAL (2-0 – Vermont) FIRST PERIOD – Anthony Petruzzelli– 11:31 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Vermont scored in similar fashion, attacking once the BC penalty kill took care of business. Ace Cowans dug the puck out from behind Woll and flung it up to Kaufman on the wing. Anthony Petruzzelli skated from left to right to free himself from the defense. Kaufman spotted him and connected with Petruzzelli who was able to beat Woll with the backhand at 11:31 for a 2-0 advantage.
THIRD GOAL (2-1 – Boston College) FIRST PERIOD – Logan Hutsko – 12:48 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Logan Hutsko stopped the early bleeding with a snipe from the right dot at 12:48 of the first. Connor Moore made a great play to keep the puck in the zone along the far wall. Christopher Grando crashed in and won a one-on-one battle and made a great pass to Hustko streaking in from the top. Hutsko took two strides and ripped it past UVM netminder Stefanos Lekkas to make it 2-1.
FOURTH GOAL (2-2 – Boston College) FIRST PERIOD – Aapeli Rasanen – 18:57 – EVEN STRENGTH
• With only 63 seconds left in the first, Boston College fully stripped Vermont's momentum with a tic-tac-toe goal right in front of the goal mouth. Hutsko made a strong play on the forecheck and stripped it clean behind UVM's net. Hutsko scooted it out Grando on the right dot and Rasanen broke free on the near post. Grando shook his defenseman and connected with Rasanen on the post for the lay-up at 18:57 to tie things up, 2-2.
FIFTH GOAL (3-2 – Boston College) SECOND PERIOD – Logan Hutsko – 9:03 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Hutsko lit the lamp for the second time of the night at 9:03 to give the Eagles their first lead of the game, 3-2. Luke McInnis broke up a play in the neutral zone, hooking up with Casey Fitzgerald on the other side. Hutsko broke into the play, taking the pass from Fitzgerald and doing the rest himself. Hutsko split two defenders on the blue line, wheeled the puck around the net faster than Lekkas could go post to post and the Floridian beat the UVM goaltender under the pad with a precise wrister.
SIXTH GOAL (3-3 – Vermont) THIRD PERIOD – Matt O'Donnell – 5:37 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Matt O'Donnell leveled the score by capitalizing on a loose puck out front. Kaufman skated the puck into the zone, releasing a shot on target while Conor O'Neil attempted a shot on the backhand on the doorstep. The puck pinballed out to the circles where O'Donnell hammered it to the back of the net with Woll out of position to tie it back up, 3-3, at 5:37 of the third period.
SEVENTH GOAL (4-3 – Boston College) THIRD PERIOD – Aapeli Rasanen – 16:54 – EVEN STRENGTH
• The Eagles did an incredible job of keeping the puck in the zone and it resulted in Rasanen's second goal of the game, also standing as the game-winning marker. David Cotton backhanded the puck out of a scrum where Julius Mattila was between the circles to redirect it back to Cotton. The Parker, Texas native wheeled the puck around the net and threw it at the crease. Rasanen got a hold of it and his back to the net, managed to get off a backhander with a Catamount in his face and snuck it past Lekkas at 16:54, standing as the deciding 4-3 tally.
