No. 19 Boston College attacked first but a two-goal second period was enough for the No. 11 Friars to survive
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 19 Boston College started off wit a 1-0 lead late in the first period but No. 11 Providence stormed back in the second period, building a 2-1 lead and closed things out with that count.
Sophomore defenseman Connor Moore scored his first goal of the season while sophomore forward Mike Booth and freshman Casey Carreau notched this first points of the season.

- Sophomore defenseman Connor Moore scored his first goal of the season and second as an Eagle with 4:30 to play in the first period. Mike Booth and Casey Carreau helped out on the Eagles' opening marker, denoting their first points of the season. For Carreau, it marked his first-career point while Booth notched his fifth-career assist.
- Boston College's penalty kill staved off both of Providence's 5-on-3 opportunities. One window was for 1:34 while the other was for 32 seconds.
- Sophomore goaltender Joseph Woll stopped 34 shots on Friday night.
- Faceoffs were nearly even as the Friars claimed a 40-38 advantage in the faceoff circle.

FIRST GOAL (1-0 – Boston College) FIRST PERIOD – Connor Moore – 15:30 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Connor Moore broke up a Friars rush on the right side and sent it up to Casey Carreau coming down the seam. Carreau slid it over to Mike Booth on the right dot for a one-timer and PC's Hayden Hawkey made the initial kick save but could not control the rebound. Moore chased the play and pounced on the loose carom at 15:30 to tuck away for the 1-0 lead.
SECOND GOAL (1-1 – Providence) SECOND PERIOD – Erik Foley – 8:22 – POWER PLAY
• Providence tied things up during a 4-on-4 situation after Erik Foley beat Joseph Woll with a nice move up high. Spenser Young tossed a homerun pass from the neutral zone out to Foley on the right flank and he was off to the races down the right side in a one-on-one battle. Foley skated into BC's zone and streaked towards the near post and beat Woll with a nifty wrister in the top-left corner to knot it, 1-1, at 8:22 of the second period.
