Senior Erika Reineke and rookie Scott Rasmussen participated in the Sailing World Cup of Miami that ran from Jan. 22 to Jan. 30 last week in Florida.
Reineke, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, placed seventh in the Laser Radial competition and was the first US finisher in the event. Germany's Vasileia Karachaliou won the event, while Belgium's Evi van Acker placed second.

Rasmussen, a native of Cape Coral, Florida, placed 49th in the Laser competition. He was the fourth among the American competitors at the event. Jean Baptiste Bernaz of France won the event, while Charlie Buckingham was the first American to place in seventh.
