The Boston College men's and women's ski teams began their 2017 campaign up in New York at the St. Lawrence Carnival, finishing 15th out of 17 teams, scoring 87 over the two-day Carnival.Â
Junior Carter Robertson represented the Eagles in the men's giant slalom, finishing 18th out of 37 with a time of 2:08.88 over two runs, scoring 26 points for BC in the process.Â
Sophomore Amanda Steffey and senior Bug Pech participated in the women's giant slalom for the Eagles, placing 45th and 47th, respectively. Steffey crossed with a total time of 2:22.88, and Pech recorded a time of 2:24.20 over her two runs. The pair earned the Eagles a combined 10 points. Â
Pech also raced in the women's slalom with teammates Dannica Ashnault and Natalie Wetmore. Ashnault placed 37th with a time of 1:48.99 over two runs; Pech finished 41st with a combined time of 1:50.73; and Wetmore finished 51st with a time of 1:56.48. The trio earned the Eagles 19 points for their performances.Â
In the men's slalom, Ryan Barney and Trevor Lennox represented the Eagles, adding 32 points to the team score. Barney finished 26th overall with a 1:34.88 over his two runs, and teammate Lennox came in 32nd with a total time of 1:36.34.Â
The Eagles return to the slopes in Jackson, N.H., on Jan 27-28 at the UNH Carnival.Â
