Fasoula Notches Double-Double In Loss to No. 6/9 Notre Dame

BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Mariella Fasoula notched her fourth double-double of the season with 20 points and 14 rebounds. She also matched her career-high in rebounds and assists (6).
- Rookie forward Emma Guy added 14 points and four rebounds while senior Kelly Hughes had three three-pointers for 11 points. Freshman forward Georgia Pineau had 11 points and three rebounds and three assists.
- BC had 20 assists on 27 field goals. The Eagles also won the battle of the boards, 31-27.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Â BC went up 4-0 off a hoop from Mariella Fasoula and Emma Guy. The Eagles held a lead until the 12-10 off a three-pointer from Lindsay Allen from the top of the key. With two minutes to play in the quarter, BC was down 14-12, behind four points from Guy. Â BC had just one turnover in the first five minutes, the four in the last five resulted in a 22-15 Irish lead after one quarter.
- Notre Dame pulled to an 11 point lead behind the play of Lindsay Allen and Turner. BC chipped away as Taylor Ortlepp cut the lead to eight points on two three's and a half hook from Emma Guy – Notre Dame 38-30 with 1:33 to play.  A Fasoula layup cut the Notre Dame lead to five points but Allen hit a three at the buzzer to five the Irish a 43-35 halftime lead.
- The third quarter hurt Boston College as Notre Dame outscored the Eagles, 31-15. The Irish shot 75 percent from the floor in the quarter, while BC shot just 40 percent. BC was down, 74-50, after three.
- The Eagles continued to fight as a Hughes three-pointer with 4:50 to play in the quarter cut the Notre Dame lead to 17 points. Fasoula sparked a 9-2 run by the Eagles and with 2:19 to play, BC was down just 12 points. The run ended as the Eagles could not make another run in the final minutes.
