Eagles will host the Crimson at Fenway Park
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's hockey team will take the game outdoors on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, when the Eagles host Harvard at Fenway Park. Face off is scheduled for 8 p.m. at "America's Most Beloved Ballpark" as part of the week-long Frozen Fenway festivities.
The game will be part of a broader celebration of girls' and women's hockey, and proceeds from the event will be donated to the Denna Laing Fund. Complete details, including ticket information, will be announced at a later date by event organizers.
"We're so excited to have the opportunity to be part of Frozen Fenway and represent women's hockey during this great event," Boston College head coach Katie Crowley said. "And to have two great representatives of women's hockey – BC and Harvard – it'll be a fantastic experience for our players and fans alike."
Both teams have plans to conduct a pregame skate at Fenway Park on Monday, Jan. 9, in preparation for Tuesday's game.
The Eagles enter the 2016-17 season on the tails of a record-setting 2015-16 campaign that saw BC finish with a 40-1-0 record and its best-ever final ranking of No. 2 in both the U.S. College Hockey Online and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. The team's 40 wins were the second-most in a season in NCAA history. In 2016-17, the Eagles are set to return 17 players and will add seven freshmen to the roster.
Boston College's complete 2016-17 schedule is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
