McPhee following in father's footsteps, playing for Coach York
2016 5th round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers, Graham McPhee, is one of three arrivals to The Heights from the U.S. National Team Development Program this fall.
The left-handed forward joins the Eagles after appearing in 58 games with the U.S. National U-18 Team, while recording 10 goals and eight assists, while also playing in 20 games as part of the United States Hockey League with five tallies.
The Bethesda, Md. native also participated in the U-18 World Championship in Grand Forks, N.D. this season and helped Team USA to a bronze medal with a pair of goals and three assists.
During the 2014-15 season, the 5-11 winger skated in 43 games for the U.S. National U-17 Team and posted four goals and 15 helpers.
McPhee is the son of current general manager for the expansion NHL Las Vegas franchise, George McPhee, who was a two-time captain for Jerry York at Bowling Green. For the Falcons, the elder McPhee won the prestigious Hobey Baker award for the nation's best player in 1982, while leading York's squad to a Frozen Four appearance and a CCHA Championship.
