BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Donovan Casey led the Eagles with three RBIs on the day, turning in a 2-for-5 performance.
- Sophomore Jake Palomaki went 1-for-4 with a run. He finished the season reaching base in 49 of the Eagles' 57 games.
- Sophomore Scott Braren went 2-for-4 with a double, the Eagles' only extra-base hit of the day.
- Junior Chris Balogh came up with a pinch-hit RBI single in the eight, notching his first career RBI in a BC uniform.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hurricanes jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second. Johnny Ruiz led off with a double to the gap in left center and Willie Abreu drove him in with a base hit to center. A bunt single put two on and with one down, Michelangeli homered over the wall in left center to make it a four-run Miami lead. After allowing another single, freshman right-handed starter Jacob Stevens got a chopper to third and a fly ball to end the inning.
- The Eagles got two back off the bat of Casey to cut the lead in half. With starter RHP Andrew Cabezas on the mound, Senior Logan Hoggarth notched BC's first hit with a single to left. Sophomore Mitch Bigras drew a walk and both runners moved up on a Palomaki moved them up on a sac bunt. With two outs, Casey knocked up back up the middle to score Hoggarth and Bigras. The Canes went to the pen for LHP Thomas Woodrey, used a strikeout to end the inning.
- The Hurricanes scored one in the fourth with freshman LHP Zach Stromberg on the mound to go up by three. Christopher Barr led off with a base hit to right and a walk put two on with no outs. A sac bunt moved the runners onto scoring position and freshman RHP John Witkowski entered the game. Randy Batista grounded out to second, scoring Barr, but Witkowski ended the inning with another grounder.
- BC got the run back in the fifth. Palomaki led off with single up of the middle and junior Michael Strem drew a walk to put two on for class Nick Sciortino. He moved the runners up on a two-strike sac bunt and RHP Frankie Bartow entered the game. Casey plated Palomaki with a chopper to third before Bartow got a strikeout to get out of the inning.
- Michelangeli put the Canes up, 9-3, with a grand slam in the seventh off senior LHP Jesse Adams. With one down, Adams loaded the bases on a walk and two infield singles. Michelangeli hit one over the wall in left to give Miami the six-run lead. Adams got a ground ball and fly out to end the inning.
- The Eagles scored one with two outs in the eighth to cut the lead to five. They loaded the bases on a fielder's choice, single and walk and Balogh knocked a base hit to right to bring one in. Closer RHP Bryan Garcia came into game and got a strikeout to leave them loaded.
- Garcia pitched a 123 ninth to give Miami the win.

- BC finished the season 8-12 when their opponent scores first.
- The Eagles are 7-20 in the all-time series against Miami. The Eagles are 3-2 in postseason play against the Canes.
- The Eagles did not make an error in the three contests in the Super Regional. They finished the season 15-8 in those contests.
THE 2016 SEASON
- The Eagles' 35 overall wins are the most since the Eagles went 37-20 in 2005 and the 13 ACC wins are the most since 2010, when they were 14-16.
- They also won a program-best six conference series, including against NCAA Tournament site hosts No. 2 Louisville, Virginia and NC State.
- BC finished the season 11-11 against top-25 teams and 5-5 top-10 teams in 2016.
- The Eagles were ranked 20th in the NWCBA Poll before the start of the Super Regional. It was the first time in program history the team was ranked in a major poll.
- The Eagles began the season 8-0, the best start in program history.
- They won 10 of their 15 regular-season games, including five of the final six ACC series.
- The Eagles earned a spot in the ACC Baseball Championship for the first time since 2010 and the third time since BC joined the league in 2006.
- Boston College collected the most neutral and road regular-season victories in the ACC in 2016 - notching 20 on the year.
- After earning the program's first at-large bid since 2009, Boston College won all three games in the Oxford Regional as the three seed to advance to the program's first-ever Super Regional and move on for the first time in 49 years. BC had won Districts four times in the past to advance to the College World Series, but never since the expansion to 64-team format in 1999.
- Of the record 10 ACC teams that made the tournament, BC was one of four teams to advance to the Super Regional round.
- BC was the first team from New England to advance to the Super Regional since Connecticut in 2009.
RECORD BOOK
- Senior Jesse Adams finished his career with 84 appearances, third in BC record books. His nine career saves ranked seventh all-time.
- Senior Joe Cronin set the BC walks record with 114 career walks. His 52 career doubles tied for second all-time. He finished fifth for career at bats (731), third for games played (203), third for games starts (201), tied for seventh for career triples (6) and tied for fifth by reaching base safely 304 times. His 35 walks in 2016 tied for sixth on BC's single-season list.
- Junior Justin Dunn's 2.06 ERA in 2016 ranked fourth on BC's single-season list, while his .214 opponent batting average tied for seventh. His 3.66 career ERA is eighth all-time.
- Junior Mike King's career 3.14 ERA is second all-time at Boston College while his .500 win percentage tied for 10th. His 209.1 career innings pitched is 10th all-time while he set the single-season record with 104 innings pitched in 2016.
- Sophomore Jake Palomaki entered the top-10 for career walks with 88, tied for ninth. His 42 this season is second only to the record he set as a freshman. His 19 stolen bases in 2016 is tied for third.
- Junior Michael Strem has 47 career doubles, tied for sixth in BC record books.
- Freshman Jacob Stevens' 2.54 ERA is ninth on BC's single-season list.
- As a team, the Eagles placed on 13 top-five team record lists, including breaking the walks record with 240 on the season. The 38 sacrifice hits tied for fifth and the 1,190 at bats ranked fourth.
- The 35 wins ties for third all-time, while the .614 win percentage is fourth.
- The pitching staff's 431 strikeouts and 3.82 team ERA are fifth all-time while opponents' .245 batting average is second. The 14 saves on the year tied for first all-time and the 507.2 innings pitched is third.
