Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After three scoreless innings, the Eagles got on the board in the fourth. With one down, Casey tripled over the centerfielder's head and senior Joe Cronin followed with a four-pitch walk to put two on. Martellini blasted the first home run of the 2016 season over the 380-foot fence in left center to give BC a 3-0 lead.
- Sophomore Anthony Maselli laced a triple to right center and junior Nick Sciortino plated him with a base hit up the middle.
- The Eagles took a 5-0 lead in the fifth. Casey tallied his second hit of the day with a two-out single up the middle. He moved into scoring position on a wild pitch and Cronin brought him home on a base hit through the right side. Â
- The Huskies scored their only run of the game in the ninth with sophomore Brian Rapp on the hill. After striking out the first batter he faced, Rapp hit Johnny Zubek, who moved to third on two wild pitches. Brian Sisler drew a walk to put runners at the corners and Brad Wood plated Zubek with a single to right center. Rapp settled in and got back-to-back Ks to end the game and seal the BC victory.
