BC HIGHLIGHTS & GAME NOTES
- Boston College and North Dakota skated to an epic battle Saturday night at the College Hockey Showdown at Madison Square Garden. The overall series between the two programs was deadlocked at 11-11-1 prior to tonight's decision. 11,348 fans came out to support in attendance. The Fighting Hawks ended Boston College's five-game (4-0-1) unbeaten streak with the win on Saturday.

- Scott Savage not only recorded his first-career three-point performance in his 133rd-career game with the playmaker (three assists), the San Clemente, Calif. native was also the game's highest point scorer. Savage is seventh on the team in scoring with 12 points (2-10-12).

- The Eagles pulled their goaltender, Joseph Woll, late in the third and Matthew Gaudreau scored the extra attacker goal. It was the first of the season for Boston College. The senior winger leads BC's scoring attack with 19 points (6-13-19).

- Colin White scored his fifth power play goal of the season and ninth of his career. The Hanover, Mass. native is one of 16 skaters in all of college hockey with at least five power play goals this season. Only three others have six.

- Boston College is now 7-8-1 at Madison Square Garden (both new and old record combined).

GOAL DESCRIPTIONS
FIRST GOAL - SECOND PERIOD – Tyson Jost – 8:57 – EVEN STRENGTH
• North Dakota broke the scoreless standoff 28:57 into regulation when Tyson Jost made a strong deke in front of Boston College College netminder Joe Woll for the 1-0 North Dakota lead. Austin Poganski raced the puck down the right side of the boards, slipped the puck through Eagle pressure to the slot. Jost corralled it, brought it to his backhand, and beat Woll at 8:57 of the second period.

SECOND GOAL - SECOND PERIOD – Tyson Jost – 14:02 – POWER PLAY
• North Dakota amassed four plays to BC's zero midway through the second period and the Fighting Hawks cashed in on their fourth one at 14:02. Christian Wolanin got the puck up to Shane Gersich on the red line and he pierced BC's penalty kill with a pass through the one to Jost in strike. Jost accepted the past, took one stride and wristed it from the left circle and beat Woll at 14:02 on the power play for a 2-0 UND lead.

THIRD GOAL - THIRD PERIOD – Colin White – 00:49 – POWER PLAY
• Boston College was granted a sizeable advantage to start the third period and Colin White took advantage 49 seconds into the frame. Scott Savage cycled the puck up to Connor Moore atop the zone with plenty of space. Moore connected with White on the left post and he snapped it past North Dakota goaltender Cam Johnson for the 5-on-3 power play goal to cut into the lead, 2-1.

FOURTH GOAL - THIRD PERIOD – Christopher Brown – 4:34 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Just as BC's other power play expired, Savage triggered another play with a blast from the point into traffic. David Cotton wrestled around in the crease and was able to get a stick on the puck and not allow Johnson to square up to it. Cotton swatted it out to the slot where Christopher Brown stormed in from the right circle and slammed home the feed on a wide-open net at 4:34 to tie it up, 2-2.

FIFTH GOAL - THIRD PERIOD – Joel Janatuinen – 9:06 – EVEN STRENGTH
• North Dakota reclaimed its lead, 3-2, at 9:06 of the third period. Chris Wilkie fished the puck out of the corner to Johnny Simonson in the crease. Simonson wheeled around and attempted to stuff a backhander past Woll. The puck pinballed out to Joel Janatuinen and he roofed the disc over Woll's glove.

SIXTH GOAL - THIRD PERIOD – Trevor Olson – 17:59 – EVEN STRENGTH
• The Fighting Hawks added an insurance goal when Trevor Olson stole a pass deep in Boston College's end. Olson streaked in from the faceoff, ripped a crossing pass and skated in on Woll and snapped it to the back of the net to ice the game, 4-2, with 2:01 to play in regulation.

SEVENTH GOAL - THIRD PERIOD – Matthew Gaudreau – 19:51 – EXTRA ATTACKER
• With 8.7 seconds left on the clock, Matthew Gaudreau put a scare into North Dakota and duped Johnson with a long shot from above the right circle. Savage notched his third assist but connecting with Julius Mattila on the halfway. Mattila raced through the neutral zone and dropped it off for Gaudreau on the blue line. Gaudreau wristed it towards the net with time winding down and it caromed off of a Fighting Hawks' defenseman to the back of the net but it was too little too late as North Dakota hung on for the 4-3 win.

Boston College will return to The Heights Tuesday night and close out the Northeastern series at Kelley Rink. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Eagles will close out the first half of the season on the road at Notre Dame on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. Next week's game in South Bend will mark BC's final conference game at Compton Family Ice Arena as the Fighting Irish depart for the Big Ten hockey conference.
