SERIES HISTORY
- Boston College and Connecticut meet for the 13th time Saturday. The Eagles are 10-0-2 all-time against the Huskies.
- The two teams began series play in 1908 (0-0 tie).
- Saturday's game is the first meeting between the two schools since a 27-7 BC win in 2004 (UConn's first season in the BIG EAST). Boston College played its final season in the BIG EAST in 2004 before joining the ACC in 2005.
- BC is 5-0-1 all-time at home and 5-0-1 on the road against UConn. BC has won the last nine games and has outscored UConn, 267-59.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- The Huskies come into Chestnut Hill following a bye week and will look to get back to work.
- UConn is one of the most disciplined teams in the country, ranking fourth in the nation in fewest penalties.
- Replacing the injured Bryant Shirreffs, quarterback Donovan Williams will make the second start of the season.
- Hauling in the passes for UConn is wide receiver Noel Thomas, who has recorded 48 percent of all the Huskies catches for 1,058 yards in 10 games.
- The rushing attack for UConn is led by running back Arkeel Newsome, who averages 4.5 yards per carry.
- The Huskies, just like Boston College, will show a strong physical defense. With 83 tackles, Obi Melifonwu has become the most dependable defensive back for the team and is leading the team with four interceptions.
THE EAGLES BREAKDOWN
- Boston College will be looking to win the next two games in order to qualify for a bowl for the third time in four years under head coach Steve Addazio.
- Graduate quarterback Patrick Towles will get the start for the Eagles. This season, Towles has a 12.7 yards per completion, seventh in the ACC.
- Senior running back Myles Willis recorded his longest rush of the season, reversing the field for a 39-yard run at No.18 Florida State last week
- Sophomore wide receiver Michael Walker currently sits atop the receiving core leading the team in receptions (25) and receiving yards (302).
- Senior defensive back John Johnson is the current team leader in tackles with 56, along with tackles Johnson is also tied for the team lead with two interceptions along with fellow DB William Harris
- Last week at Florida State, junior linebacker Connor Strachan led the way on defense with nine tackles, including 1.5 tackles-for-a-loss.
- Junior DE Harold Landry continues to be a disruptive force as he ranks third in the nation in sacks with 11, 12th in tackles-for-a-loss and first in the nation with six forced fumbles.
