McCaffrey Named To USWNT Olympic Qualifier Roster

Former Eagles forward is one of 20 named to the Olympic Qualifier Roster.

Former Boston College women's soccer player Stephanie McCaffrey has been named to the 20-players to the US Women's National Team CONCACAF Olympic qualifying roster, which will complete in Texas from Feb. 10-21.

The first match for the team will be on Feb. 10 against Costa Rica. The US will then play Mexico on Saturday, Feb. 13 following by the final game vs. Puerto Rico on Monday, Feb. 15.

McCaffrey, a 2015 graduate of Boston College, has earned five caps and has one goal since joining the full team in the final stretch of the Women's World Cup victory Tour in December.

The Winchester native trained with the team from Jan. 5 through the 21^stin Carson, California. The team played Ireland on Jan. 25 and McCaffrey entered the game in the 46^th minute for Tobin Heath.

The former Eagles forward had a strong rookie season for the Boston Breakers in the NWSL. She started 17 of 19 games and scored three goals and recorded three assists.
