The Eagles tabbed for at least three ESPN games
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College football team will kick off the 2016 season on international soil – in Dublin, Ireland, as previously announced – and the Eagles will welcome six opponents to The Heights to complete the seven-game home slate.  With the Atlantic Coast Conference's announcement of the full schedule on Tuesday, BC will have a minimum of three nationally-televised games.
Â
The Eagles will host Georgia Tech in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic on Sept. 3 at Aviva Stadium to start the ACC slate right away. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 7:30 a.m. EST (12:30 p.m. IST).
Â
BC returns from the Emerald Isle to take on Massachusetts at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots, on Sept. 10. In 2014, BC beat the Minutemen, 30-7, in the season opener in Foxborough.
Â
The Eagles head back on the road for a trip to Blacksburg on Sept. 17 to face cross-divisional opponent Virginia Tech. While the Eagles hold an 8-16 all-time record against the Hokies, they tallied a W in three of the last four meetings, including a 33-31 victory in Virginia two years ago.
Â
Wagner comes to Chestnut Hill on Sept. 24 for BC's first 2016 game in Alumni Stadium. It will be the first meeting between the two schools. The Eagles will also host non-conference opponents Buffalo on Oct. 1 and Connecticut on Nov. 19. The Eagles are 6-2 against the Bulls with the last meeting coming in 2006 – a 41-0 BC shutout – and have not lost to the Huskies in the 12 meetings, tying twice.
Â
National runners-up and defending ACC Champions Clemson comes to The Heights for a Friday night matchup on Oct. 7, which will be a nationally-televised game on the ESPN platform. The Eagles are 9-14 all-time against the Tigers and 6-7-1 at home. BC won the first four of six meetings between the two squads in league play, but has not tallied a W since.
Â
After a bye week, the Eagles host northeast foe Syracuse on Oct. 22. Since the Orange joined the league in 2013, the home team has taken the game in the renewed rivalry. BC then makes its way to Raleigh, N.C., to face NC State for an Oct. 29 game in a series in which the Eagles leads, 8-5. They won, 30-14, the last time they played in Carter-Finley Stadium, in 2014.
Â
Louisville returns to The Heights on Nov. 5. The Eagles have yet to best the Cardinals since the Kentucky school joined the ACC in 2014. Overall, BC holds a 3-4 record in the all-time series. The Maroon and Gold then head to Tallahassee, Fla., for another Friday night, ESPN contest against Florida State on Nov. 11. The last time the Eagles beat the Noles was in 2009 and they have only come out of the panhandle with two wins – in 2006 and 2008.
Â
BC finishes the regular season with a return to North Carolina to take on Wake Forest on Nov. 26. The Eagles have won 12 of the 21 all-time meetings with the Demon Deacons, going 3-3-1 in Winston-Salem. They came away with a 23-17 victory in 2014.
