BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman Jake Palomaki doubled in the sixth, extending his on-base streak to 33 games. He also extended his career-long hit streak to seven games.
- Sophomore Michael Strem drove in two with a double in the fifth to bring his doubles season total to 19, which is tied for seventh in BC record books with Tony Sanchez (2007-09).
- Senior Blake Butera went went 2-for-4, bringing his career hits total to 199, which is 10th in BC record books. He has also reached base 337 times, which is second all time.
- Junior Logan Hoggarth was 1-for-4. He has had a hit in the last four games and 13 of the last 17.
With the Eagles leading 2-1 in the eighth, the Hawks scored four runs off junior RHP John Nicklas to take the lead. Pitchers John LaRoss and Jacob Mellin threw a scoreless eighth and ninth, respectively, to give Hartford the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks struck first, scoring a run in the third. Junior left-handed starter Jesse Adams retired the first seven batters he faced before allowing a double to left center to Joe Roberti. Roberti moved to third on a fly ball to center and scored on an RBI single by Trey Stover.
- The Eagles took the lead in the fifth, scoring two to go up, 2-1. Freshman Scott Braren drew a one-out walk and senior Nick Colucci came in to pinch run for him at first. Palomaki followed with a double to left center to put Eagles on second and third. Butera drew a walk to load the bases and the Hawks went the pen for righty Jeremy Charles. Strem laced a double down the left-field line to plate Colucci and Palomaki.
- Hartford scored four runs off Nicklas to go on top, 5-2. Aaron Wilson led off with a double to center. Freshman centerfielder Donovan Casey made a diving attempt, but could not come up with the ball. Stover tallied an infield single to put two on before a sacrifice moved both into scoring position. David MacKinnon knocked one up the middle to score both runners. Ryan Lukach followed with a single to right to plate MacKinnon before Nicklas got a popup for the second out. Erik Ostberg doubled to center to make it a 5-2 game. Nicklas forced another popup to get out of the inning.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The loss marked only the fourth home loss and the third at Pellagrini Diamond. It also is only the first non-conference home loss of the season.
- Relievers redshirt juniors LHP Tyler Hinchliffe and RHP Geoffrey Murphy and senior RHP Travis Ferrick each threw a scoreless inning. Ferrick tied a career high with two strikeouts
- Starter Adams went five innings and allowed just three hits, one run, two walks and struck out three.
- The loss marked the third time in 2015 the Eagles were up after seven inning and did not win the game.
- The Eagles are 3-11 when scoring two runs or less.
The Eagles host Maine on Tuesday, May 12 at 3 p.m. at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond before wrapping up the regular season with a three-game set against Notre Dame.
