BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Johnny Adams belted his first career home run, a three-run shot in the fifth. He had a career-high four RBIs on the day.
- Freshman Jake Palomaki went 1-for-3 with a walk to extend his on-base streak to 19 games.
- Junior Joe Cronin was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs. He has a hit in the last four games and has reached base in the last eight.
- Sophomore Michael Strem was 2-for-4 with a double and a career-high three runs. He is now tied for the ACC lead with 15 doubles.
- Junior Stephen Sauter belted his first career triple, which plated a run in the third. He was also 2-for-4, drove in two and tied a career high with three runs scored.
- Freshman Anthony Maselli came in as a defensive replacement in the seventh and tallied an infield single in the bottom of the inning. He has tallied a hit in his last three appearances.
- The Crimson made it a one-run game in the fifth, closing the gap after BC led 6-2. The Eagles answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 10-5 lead.
- The Eagles then scored three more in the sixth to go up, 13-5. The insurance proved necessary as Harvard tallied five runs in the seventh and ninth.
- The Crimson notched two in the first off freshman starter RHP Kyle Dunster. Mike Martin led off with a home run over the left-field wall to start the game. Drew Reid doubled to right and Mitch Klug followed with a single to score the second Harvard run. Dunster settled in and got two groundouts, allowing Klug to advance to third, before walking a batter to put runners on the corners. Redshirt junior LHP Tyler Hinchliffe entered the game and forced a grounder to end the inning.
- The Eagles took the lead in the second, scoring three. BC loaded the bases on a walk, hit by pitch and single by freshman Scott Braren. With one out, Adams hit a sac fly to score the Eagles first run. Palomaki popped one up, which should have ended the inning, but the Harvard shortstop dropped the ball, allowing two runs to come in and BC to take the lead.
- The Eagles went up, 6-2, in the third with new pitcher LHP Sean O'Neill on the mound. Cronin led off with double to right center and Strem followed with a two-bagger of his own to deep center to plate his teammate. Sauter blasted a triple off the wall in right center to score Strem and freshman Donovan Casey bring in Sauter with a groundout to second.
- Harvard made it a one-run game in the fifth. Hinchliffe loaded the bases on two walks and his first base hit allowed. Klug hit a sac fly to center before redshirt sophomore RHP Luke Fernandes replaced Hinchliffe. Ethan Ferreira doubled to left to plate two more. Fernandes got a strikeout and line out to get out of the inning.
- BC put up four in the bottom of the fifth to go up, 10-5. After a lead-off walk to Strem, LHP Joey Sliepka entered and got a popup for the first out. Strem stole second and moved to third when Casey hit a fly ball that was dropped in right field. Junior Logan Hoggarth scored Strem on a groundout to short. After junior Gabriel Hernandez drew a walk, Adams launched a three-run jack over the left-field wall to give BC a five-run lead.
- Senior RHP Travis Ferrick pitched a perfect sixth, striking out two before the Eagles added three more off RHP TJ Laurisch. With one down, Cronin and Strem hit back-to-back singles and Sauter scored Cronin with a single to left. After a strikeout, Hoggarth chopped one to third. John Fallon's throw went wide, allowing both BC runners to come home.
- The Crimson scored three in the seventh off freshman RHP Trevor Massey. Harvard loaded the bases on a double, hit by pitch and a walk. A single by Matt Hink scored one and Austin Black followed with a two-run base hit. The Eagles turned a 463 double play to get out of the inning.
- Harvard scored the final two runs on the game in the ninth with redshirt junior RHP Geoffrey Murphy on the hill. After starting the inning with a strikeout, Murphy hit Klug. Josh Ellis grounded to short, allowing BC to get the lead runner for the second out, but Hink doubled off the wall in center to score Ellis. Black followed with a single to right and Hink scored when right fielder Hoggarth misplayed the ball. Murphy got a popup to second to give BC the win.
