· Senior Blake Butera went 3-for-5, tallying hits in his first two at bats and extending his hit streak to nine games.
· Junior Chris Shaw tallied a two-run single in the first. He has reached base safely in the last 26 games.
· Sophomore Michael Strem recorded a double in the eighth. Five of his nine hits in 2015 are doubles.
KEY PLAYS
· While the Eagles led early twice, the Tigers took a one-run lead in the fourth and added to it.
· Down by one, LSU scored two to take its first lead. Danny Zardon plated the tying run with a groundout and Mark Laird singled up the middle to give the Tigers the advantage.
· Zardon extended the lead to 5-3 with a lead-off home run in the sixth. LSU scored two insurance runs in the seventh.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· The Eagles got on the board first, scoring two in the first as junior Gabriel Hernandez and Butera tallied back-to-back singles to start the games. With one down, Shaw singled to center to give BC a 2-0 lead.
· The Tigers tied the game in the second. Connor Hale led off with a grounder down the third-base line. Junior Joe Cronin made a good play on the ball, but Hale just beat the throw and scored when Andrew Stevenson tripled to deep center. Kade Scivicque tied the game with a sac fly to center.
· The Eagles took the lead in the top of the third. Cronin reached on a fielder’s choice and moved to second on a balk. He advanced to third on a groundout and Strem plated him with a single to left center.
· LSU scored two to take its first lead of the game in the fourth. Stevenson drew a one-out walk and moved to third when Scivicque singled to center and Hernandez misplayed the ball. Zardon grounded out to plate the tying run. After a walk, Laird singled up the middle to give the Tigers the lead.
· Zardon made it a 5-3 game with a lead-off home run in the sixth and sophomore RHP Mike King on the hill.
· The Tigers scored two more in the seventh to take a four-run lead. Chris Chinea reached on an error and pinch runner Beau Jordan moved to second on an obstruction call on a pickoff attempt, to third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch. Zardon plated the second run on a double down the left-field line after Scivicque drew a two-out walk.
· LSU added one more with redshirt junior LHP Tyler Hinchliffe on the mound in the eighth. Jake Fraley drew a one-out walk, moved to second on a wild pitch and stole third. Hinchliffe got the next batter looking but Jordan hit a blooper to center to score Farley.

· The Eagles scored the first runs off Poche’ in 2015, tagging him for three. He threw six scoreless innings against Kansas the first weekend of the season.
· Butera, Hernandez, Hoggarth and Strem have tallied at least one hit in the first five games of the 2015 season.
· Butera extended his hit streak to nine games while Hernandez started the game with a single and stretched his six games. His career long is seven games. Strem recorded an RBI single in the third inning, extending his hit streak to a career-long six games.
