KEY PLAYS

· With RHP Brandon Johnson on the mound and two down, Hernandez and senior Blake Butera hit back-to-back doubles to score two. Strem drove in two more with a double to center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
· Shaw led off the second with his first home run of the season to break open the game’s scoring.
· The Musketeers struck back by scoring two in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. Andre Jernigan led off with a single and Rylan Bannon was hit by a pitch to put two on. Tim O’Connor plated both runners with double to left center.
· Xavier added a run with two outs in the third as Patrick Jones knocked one up the middle, which sophomore shortstop Johnny Adams knocked down but could not beat the runner at first, and Jernigan followed with an RBI triple to right.
· Hernandez put the Eagles back on top, 4-3, with one swing of the bat in the fourth. Junior Logan Hoggarth and sophomore Nick Sciortino tallied one-out singles and with two down, Hernandez belted one over the wall in right center for a three-run homer.
· The Musketeers came right back to tie the game in the bottom of the frame on a two-out solo shot by Joe Forney.
· The Eagles put four on the board in the sixth to take a commanding 8-4 lead with Johnson on the mound. With two down and a runner on second, Hernandez knocked one to the wall in right to bring the tie game. Butera followed with a double of his own to score Hernandez. Junior Joe Cronin was hit by a pitch and Shaw drew a walk to load the bases for Strem, who nailed one to center, scoring Butera and Cronin.
· BC added two more in the seventh facing right-hander Damien Jackson. With runners on first and second, Cronin singled to center to plate one and Shaw followed with a base hit of his own to make it a 10-4.
· With redshirt junior Tyler Hinchliffe on the mound and runners on second and third, pinch hitter Blaine Griffiths hit a blooper to left center to score one. Rylan Bannon followed with a base hit to left before Hinchliffe tallied two outs. Forney knocked one up the middle that Adams knocked down, but his flip to second was late, allowing a third run to score.
· The Eagles tacked on four in the eighth to finish off the scoring. Pinch hitter Stephen Sauter plated a run on a single and Sciortino came around from second on a kicked ball by the second baseman off Hernandez’s bat. With the bases loaded, Cronin drew a walk to bring in a run and Shaw grounded out to first to make it 14-7.
