· Sophomore Johnny Adams and junior Stephen Sauter collected the Eagles' other two RBIs.
KEY PLAYS
· The Terriers took a 2-0 lead in the third, but the Eagles tied the game in top of the fourth.
· Gorman struck out the side in the bottom of the inning to keep it knotted and BC pulled ahead in the fifth with an RBI by Adams.
· Wofford recaptured the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run double by Demetrius Jennings off sophomore RHP Bobby Skogsbergh.
· The Eagles had the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh but could not push across a run and the Terries scored another run in the bottom of the frame after a lead-off double by Carson Waln to extend their lead, 5-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· Wofford was the first to get on the board, scoring two in the third. Kody Ruedisili led off with a double and Gorman walked Derek Hirsch. Both moved up on a sac bunt and Ruedisili came home on a passed ball. Hirsch scored on a double by Matt Ramsey.
· The Eagles retaliated in the top of the fourth to tie the game. Sophomore Michael Strem led off with a double and moved to third on a fly out. Hoggarth brought him home with a single up the middle. Hoggarth stole second and with two outs, Hernandez knocked his own RBI up the middle to even the score.
· After Gorman struck out the side in the bottom of the fourth, BC took the lead on an RBI by Adams. Junior Chris Shaw was hit by a pitch and moved all the way to third when Strem singled to left and the left fielder Jennings bobbled the ball. Adams drove him in on a ground out to second.
· The Terriers retook the lead in the sixth, scoring a run to make it 4-3. After retiring nine in a row, Gorman allowed a one-out single and Skogsbergh hit the first batter he faced and then gave up a double to right center to Jennings to put Wofford ahead.
· Wofford added a run in the seventh with junior RHP John Nicklas on the hill. He allowed a lead-off double to Waln, and with one out, Hirsch hit a fast-falling line drive at shortstop Adams. Adams quickly threw to third but Waln barely beat the throw. Waln scored on a wild pitch to make it a 5-3 game. Nicklas recorded all three outs in the inning by way of the K.
· The Terriers added three more in the eighth after the Eagles could not capitalize on a bases-loaded, two-out situation in the top of the inning. Conor Clancey doubled off the wall in center to bring two in before Nicklas was replaced. With freshman RHP Brian Rapp on the hill, Ruedisili laid down a sac bunt with a runner coming home to make it an 8-3 game.
· BC scored one in the ninth when junior Stephen Sauter tallied a sacrifice fly.
