Eagles find positives in tough loss
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - It's been tough sledding for the Boston College football team lately.Â
On Saturday, the Eagles dropped their fifth game in a row, falling to Virginia Tech, 26-10, at home. The offense couldn't get much going, as the team once again appeared out of line. It's a loss that dooms Boston College's hopes for a bowl game and has seen redshirt freshman quarterback Troy Flutie's role on the team diminish.
One glimmer of hope was the play of walk-on freshman quarterback John Fadule, who provided the latest answer under center for the Eagles and is making a stunning ascent. It leaves head coach Steve Addazio with yet another quarterback decision to make. For the time being, Fadule will be sharing reps with the first team offense along with Flutie and true freshman Jeff Smith during practice.Â
