The Princeton Tigers used three first-half goals and added another in the 49th minute as they defeated Boston College by a score of 4-2 Saturday evening at Princeton's Roberts Stadium. Boston College's leading goal scorer, redshirt junior McKenzie Meehan, tallied a goal in the 36th minute, which at the time cut the deficit in half, while sophomore midfielder Lauren Berman added the Eagles second goal in the 88th minute of the NCAA first round game.

BC HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 37th minute, McKenzie Meehan grabbed her own rebound off a deflection by a Princeton defender that landed in the back right of the Princeton goal to cut the deficit in half.
- Princeton goalkeeper Hannah Winner bobbled the initial shot and Lauren Berman grabbed her own rebound and knocked it in for BC's second goal in the 88th minute of the contest.
- Princeton out-shot BC 16-15, but the Eagles registered three more shots in the second half than Princeton.
- The Maroon and Gold totaled 11 corner kicks to Princeton's three.
- The Eagles used two goal keepers in the contest. Freshman Alexis Bryant got the start while senior Alexandra Johnson took over following the break.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 23rd minute, Princeton's Mimi Asom converted the corner kick past the dive of Alexis Bryant to put the Tigers up 1-0 over the visiting Eagles.
- 12 minutes later, it was Asom again as the freshman forward fired a rocket from the edge of the box following a Princeton throw-in to extend the Princeton lead.
- In the 37th minute, McKenzie Meehan grabbed her own rebound off a deflection by a Princeton defender that landed in the back right post of the Princeton goal to cut the deficit in half.
- Princeton's Tyler Lussi recovered a loose ball 25 yards out that she fired in past the dive of Bryant as the Tigers went up 3-1, a lead the home squad took into the break.
- Lussi added a header off a feed from Emily Sura to extend Princeton's lead to three in the 49th minute.
- Lauren Berman knocked in a shot that the Princeton goalie couldn't control after an initial save for the Eagles second goal of the evening, which came in the 88th minute.
GAME NOTES
- This was Boston College's 18th appearance in the NCAA tournament and 14th under head coach Alison Foley. All time, BC is 22-16-4 in NCAA Tournament games, with their last NCAA run coming in 2013, when Foley's Eagles advanced to the Elite 8.
- Saturday's game with Princeton is the fourth time the two squads faced each other. All time, Princeton holds the 3-1 advantage, including a 2-1 advantage in NCAA contests.
