Meehan Named ACC Player Of The Week

Eagles junior garners honors from conference, the NSCAA and TDS.
Junior forward McKenzie Meehan has been named ACC Offensive Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office. Meehan was also named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week and earned NSCAA College Player of the Week honors. She also earned the ECAC Player of the Week honor as well as being named Eagle of the Week.
Meehan, a native of Glocester, Rhode Island, scored two game-winning overtime goals as the Eagles defeated Wake Forest and Miami this week.
On Thursday, Meehan scored in overtime on a penalty kick to give Boston College a 2-1 victory over Wake Forest. She also had an assist on the first goal. On Sunday, Meehan scored two goals and had two assists as BC defeated Miami, 5-4, in overtime. Meehan cut a two goal lead in half on a penalty kick in the 64th minute. She then set up the game-tying goal in with six minutes left in the game. Two minutes into overtime, Meehan scored off a corner kick to seal the win.
Meehan leads the ACC in scoring with 15 goals, three assists for 33 points. She is sixth in the country in goals scored and ninth in total points.
Women's soccer (11-6-2, 5-3-1 ACC) will end the regular season on the road as the Eagles play at No. 1 Florida State at 3 p.m. Fans can watch the game at 3 p.m. on ESPNU.
