Rookie Colin White scored a pair of goals, his first points as an Eagle, in a 6-0 rout of Wisconsin in Boston College's home opener on Friday, Oct. 16, to propel him towards Hockey East Rookie of the Week honors
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – First-year forward Colin White picked up Boston College's first weekly honor of the season after earning Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honors Monday afternoon.
The Hanover, Mass., native scored his first-career points in his third game as an Eagle and did so with a pair of goals to help BC to a 6-0 victory against Wisconsin.
White's first tally came after juking a Badger on the blue line and firing a wrist shot to the back of the net to close the second period before putting away his first-career power play marker in the third period.
The local product's power play goal stands as BC's first 5-on-3 power play goal of the season.
White is one of 22 rookies in all of college hockey to have scored two goals thus far.
The first round pick of the Ottawa Senators this past summer joins Player of the Week Dennis Kravchenko (UMass) and Defensive Player of the Week Kevin Boyle (UMass Lowell).
The Eagles return to the road before and head West to Colorado Springs for a pair against the Tigers of Colorado College on Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24. Boston College will drop the puck against CC at 7:30 p.m. local (9:30 p.m. EST) on Friday and 7 p.m. local (9 p.m. EST) to close out on Saturday. Upon conclusion of that series, the Eagles will settle into a five-game home stand spanning from Oct. 30 to Nov. 13.
