- The dynamic duo of McKenzie Meehan and Hayley Dowd both scored. Dowd scored a first half goal to cut the lead to 2-1; it was her eighth goal of the season. Meehan scored late in the second half which but the UVA lead to 4-2. It marked her 12th goal of the season.
- Eagles' goalkeeper Alexis Bryant had a career-high of 10 saves in the game.
TURNING POINT
- One minute into the game, the Eagles defense misplayed a long ball and UVA's Mckenzy Doniak one-timed the bouncing ball into the near post for a 1-0 lead.

- Alexis Shaffer extended the lead to 2-0 when she right-footed a shot into the near post at the eight minute mark.
- The Eagles cut into the Virginia lead when Hayley Dowd scored her seventh goal of the season. Dowd ran onto a giveaway by the UVA defense and placed her shot into the near inside post.
- In the late stages of the game, Virginia's Veronica Latsko scored in the 86th minute to extend the lead to 3-1. The Eagles responded seconds later when McKenzie Meehan headed a long ball from rookie Gaby Carreiro into the far post to cut the lead to, 4-2.
- "I thought in bouts we executed the game plan well but we had critical mistakes that turned into goals,'' said BC Coach Alison Foley.
- Sophomore Madison Kenny started her seventh consecutive game, while Andrea O'Brien earned her first start at midfield … Virginia had a 14-4 edge in shots … Alexis Bryant had 10 saves in the match, one more than her previous high of nine saves vs. Pittsburgh. She has played in 10 games and started the last seven … McKenzie Meehan notched her 12th goal of the season. That gives her 41 career goals … Junior Hayley Dowd scored her eight goal of the season, which is her 28 career goals. Dowd was involved in a controversial no-call late in the game. She was attacking towards the box and a Virginia defender tripped her in the box but it remained a no-call as the referee claimed she didn't have possession … Rookie Gaby Carreiro picked up her team-high fifth assist.
- Boston College will host Wake Forest on Thursday, October 22 at 7 p.m. Fans remember the admission to the women's soccer game is free.v
