- The Tigers have won six of the last seven meetings, including a 17-13 victory at Chestnut Hill last season

THE O'ROURKE-MCFADDEN TROPHY
- Awarded annually to the winner of the Boston College-Clemson football game by the Boston College Grid-Iron Club
- The game's MVP will receive a genuine leather helmet replica worn by his team in the 1940s
- The Boston College Grid-Iron Club initiated this award in recognition of the efforts of the Clemson fans in welcoming the Eagles to the ACC
- The trophy is named after former Eagle quarterback Charles C. O'Rourke and former Tiger quarterback James McFadden, who led the teams into battle during their first-ever meeting during the 1940 Cotton Bowl (Clemson won 6-3)
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- Clemson ranks No. 48 in total offense (431.8 YPG) and No. 13 in total defense (288.8 YPG)
- The Tigers have scored at least 20 points in all five games—something the Eagles defense has yet to allow an opposing offense to accomplish
- Junior defensive lineman Shaq Lawson ranks tied for 12th in the nation with 9.5 tackles for loss
- Sophomore quarterback Deshaun Watson ranks 21st in the nation with a passer rating of 153.8
WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE EAGLES
- The Eagles defense ranks in the Top 5 in seven categories: total defense (first), pass defense (first), rush defense (first), opponent first downs (first), opponent third down conversions (first), scoring defense (second), tackles for loss (fourth) and opponent red zone conversions (fifth)
- BC has held seven consecutive regular-season opponents to 10 or fewer points in the first half
- The Eagles haven't allowed more than four third-down conversions in six-straight regular-season games, holding opponents to just 17-of-95 on such conversions during that span
- Sophomore defensive lineman Harold Landry ranks tied for 12th in the nation with 9.5 tackles for loss
- The Boston College defense has not allowed a touchdown in 10 quarters
