Dennhardt worked 5.1 innings to pick up the win. He allowed four runs on just three hits and struck out five in his outing.
The Eagles put up a single run in the second and third innings to take an early lead. Belfiore started the frame with a walk and then classmate Barry Butera singled to right to put runners on the corners. Butera then stole second to put a pair in scoring position. Smith had a quality at-bat and got a run home with a groundout to short to put BC on the board, 1-0.
With two outs in the third, Sanchez went opposite way for a single and then Wiswall drilled a ball off the wall in front of the BC bullpen for a double that brought Sanchez all the way around to score.
The Crimson scored three times in the top of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead. Dillon O'Neill walked to leadoff the inning and then Taylor Meehan got an infield single to put two men aboard. A double steal put two men in scoring position and then Matt Rogers tripled to the wall in center for two runs to tie the game, 2-2.
Harry Douglas walked with one out to put runners on the corners and then Harvard put on another double steal and Rogers got home safely on the play to give the Crimson its first lead of the day, 3-2.
Boston College responded immediately with another run in the bottom of the frame. Senior Harry Darling roped a single to left with one out and then Zapenas took an inside pitch to right for another single to put runners on the corners. Junior Robbie Anston, who was celebrating his 21st birthday today, then got Darling home with a sacrifice fly to left to tie the game.
BC regained the lead in the next inning when it put up three more runs. Sanchez singled up the middle to start the inning and then Wiswall sliced a 2-2 offering down the line in left to put two in scoring position with nobody down. Belfiore stepped to the plate and took a 1-2 pitch off the scoreboard in left for a double and two runs to put the Eagles back on top, 5-3.
Smith added to the lead when he drove a liner off the Green Monster in left for a single to plate Belfiore to push the lead to three, 6-3.
Harvard cut into the lead with a run in the top of the sixth. Meehan led off and took the first pitch he saw over Anston's head in center for a double and then reached third on a wild pitch with one out. Tom Stack-Babich drew a walk to put runners on the corners and then Douglas brought home a run with a sac fly to right to make it 6-4 BC.
The Eagles scored three more runs in the seventh to pull away. Anston led off the frame when he blasted a triple over the head of the center fielder and then scored on a wild pitch over the catcher's head. Sophomore Matt Hamlet walked during the at-bat and then Sanchez reached on a fielder's choice. Hamlet was safe at second on a throwing error to put a pair on.
A failed sac bunt gave Harvard one out with runners at first and second again and another wild pitch let them both advance to scoring position. Belfiore got a run home with a groundout to short to put BC up four, 8-4. Butera was then hit by a pitch to put runners at first and second and Smith got an infield single. The first baseman threw the ball away and another run scored to push the lead to 9-4.
The Crimson (8-22) added a run in the top of the ninth. Meehan and Rogers both had two hits for Harvard. Rogers had a triple and a pair of RBI.
