
Eagles Softball Fall To Virginia 6-2

Charlottesville, VA. - The Boston College Softball team saw its winning streak come to an end at four yesterday, dropping a 6-2 decision to the Virginia Cavaliers in the third and final game of the weekend series.
Senior Britney Thompson got things started for the Eagles with an RBI double in the top of the first that scored senior Jenna Macchi. The Cavs came right back in the bottom of the inning, touching the starter Thompson for a run of their own.
After a scoreless second, Virginia went ahead to stay with a three-spot in the bottom of the third.
Ahead 4-1, Virginia added single runs in the fourth and sixth innings, both by way of solo homeruns.
The Eagles scored their second run of the game in the fifth, when Macchi singled home junior Carly McNary.
Despite yesterday's loss, the Eagles are back in business after a 4-1 week. They are now 5-12 overall, with an ACC record of 2-4.
Boston College plays next tomorrow afternoon at Brown University at 4PM. The open their home schedule Thursday at Shea Field with a doubleheader against Harvard, beginning at 3PM.
