
Eagles Lose at No. 4 Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Shay Doron scored 15 points and No. 4 Maryland beat Boston College 71-39 on Sunday.
Maryland (22-3, 6-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), also got 11 points from Marissa Coleman and Laura Harper. It snapped a two-game losing streak.
Boston College (11-12, 1-8) got 13 points from Mickel Picco. Sarah Marshall had eight points, six in the game's first 6 minutes.
The Eagles made just two of 26 shots to open the second half and went more than 8 minutes without a field goal during a 31-9 Maryland run that extended a 36-23 halftime lead to 67-32 with 8 minutes to play.
BC made five of 35 shots in the second half. For the game, the Eagles shot 23.4 percent. The point total and shooting percentage were the Eagles' worst of the season.
Maryland held a 55-36 rebounding advantage. Jade Perry led the team with 10 and Coleman added nine. The Terps trailed just once in the game, 10-9, after Kaydia Kentish's layup at 12:32 ended a 6-0 run for the Eagles.
Maryland countered with a 19-4 run to take a 28-14 lead with 4:54 left in the half. Doron scored eight straight points during the run.
Kathrin Ress broke the Eagles' drought with a basket and Mickel Picco added a 3-pointer to pull the Eagles back to within 28-19.
Maryland opened the second half with a 20-7 run to open up a 56-30 lead with 10:01 to play. The Terps extended the run with an 11-2 stretch for its biggest lead of the game.
