Baseball Topped By No. 25 Wake Forest, 8-6

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Brandon Enick's three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning helped propel No. 25 Wake Forest to a 8-6 win over Boston College and a sweep of the three game weekend series in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Jared McGuire got the Eagles rolling in the top of the first with an RBI single, driving in Johnny Ayers, who scored three runs on the day, continuing to lead the team in this category with 20.
Wake Forest tied the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the second, but the Eagles would add two more in its half of the third. Ayers singled to lead off the inning and eventually stole home. Shawn McGill drove in Dave Preziosi to put the Eagles on top 3-1.
The Demon Deacons had an answer for every move the Eagles made offensively, battling back in the bottom of the inning to capture the lead on the three-run blast by Enick, who was 8 for 12 during the weekend series.
Freshman Eric Campbell continued his fine early-season play, tying the score in the fifth on an RBI single. The Eagles then added two more in the sixth on an throwing error to take a 6-4 lead.
Wake responded again, scoring four more runs in the bottom of the sixth and giving them the lead for good.
Freshman Michael Wanamaker took the loss for the Eagles, his first of the season, dropping the Eagles to 9-9 overall and 0-6 in the conference.
The Eagles will travel to New Britain, Conn. on Tuesday to take on Central Connecticut State at 3 p.m.
