Durham, N.H. - The Eagles dropped their first game of the season to No. 5 New Hampshire in Durham on Friday night, 4-0. The Wildcats outshot the Eagles, 35-13, as they held the Eagles scoreless through three periods.
"We played a very good team," Head Coach Tom Mutch said. "We have to come back tomorrow and play again but this time play a lot better, especially on special teams. We need generate some more offense. Johanna Ellison played very well in goal, but we gave up a power play goal and a short handed goal which is huge."
Freshman goaltender Johanna Ellison had 31 saves on 35 shots on goal. Ellison now stands at 1-1-1 on the season. Leading scorer for the Eagles Deborah Spillane was held to only two shots on goal. The entire BC team was held without a shot in the third period as the Wildcat defense remained relentless.
The Eagles were 0 for 4 on the power play and New Hampshire was 1 for 3 on the power play on the night.
Four different Wildcats scored and goaltender, Melissa Bourdon had 13 saves for New Hampshire.
The two teams square off again in Chestnut Hill on Saturday at 7 p.m.
