Senior Ryan Shannon notched three points on three assists to lead the Eagles to a 4-2 Hockey East victory over Northeastern before 6,408 fans in Kelley Rink.
Freshman goalie Cory Schneider (18 saves) improved his record to 7-0-3, including three wins over the Huskies (8-12-3, 4-7-2), as the Eagles raced to their ninth consecutive victory.
Second-ranked Boston College (15-3-3, 9-1-3) got on the board first with a goal by Dave Spina at 15:45 in the first period. Patrick Eaves pushed the puck down the left flank and, after a fake at the net, dished the rubber cross-ice to Spina. He netted the puck top-shelf on Northeastern goalie Keni Gibson.
Dan Bertram padded BC's lead in the second with a hard slap-shot from the left face-off circle.
Ned Havern extended the lead to 3-0 when he deflected a hard shot from freshman defenseman Brian O'Hanley. On the power play, O'Hanley lined up the shot with a pass at the point from Peter Harrold. Havern got a stick on it and the puck sailed stick-side over Gibson's reach.
The Eagles increased their lead to 4-0 with a power-play score from Brian Boyle at 0:32 in the third period. Eaves took a shot from the left point that sailed high off of the boards. Boyle waited at far-post and banged the puck home.
Northeastern's Mike Morris notched two goals in the third period to break the shutout.
The Eagles out-shot the Huskies, 43-20. Gibson registered 27 saves, and teammate Adam Geragosian made 12 saves in the third period.
Boston College tied its season-low for penalty minutes with four, while Northeastern recorded 14 penalty minutes.
