
Women's Ice Hockey Falls To Northeastern 4-2

Boston, Mass. - The Boston College women's ice hockey team traveled across town to face Northeastern this evening. Kerri Sanders scored two goals, but it was not enough as the Eagles fell to the Huskies 4-2 in the Hockey East matchup.
Northeastern (2-6-1, 1-1-0) got on the board first at 13:56 into the opening period.
Just one minute into the second stanza, BC evened the score at one. On the power-play Sanders connected on a pass from Deborah Spillane. The freshman earned her seventh assist of the season on the score. The Eagles fired 14 shots on goal in the period, but were unable to put it past Northeastern's goalie.
The Huskies added one more goal and the Eagles headed into the final frame trailing 2-1.
In the third, Northeastern scored an empty net goal with 4:11 remaining in the period. BC would not give up as Sanders tallied her second power-play goal of the night with 59 seconds left. Again, Spillane passed to Sanders to earn her second point of the game.
BC (2-8-1, 1-4-1) outshot Northeastern 33-23 on the night. In goal, Lisa Davis made 19 saves for the Eagles.
The Eagles will return home to face Quinnipiac on Sunday at Kelley Rink. The puck drops at 2 p.m.
