The Crimson tied the game up at 16 and the teams exchanged point for point until they ended up tied at 32. Katie Andersen took control of BC's attack as she recorded two consecutive kills to help lead the Eagles to a 34-32 victory in game one. Andersen continued her stellar play with 14 kills and 13 digs in the match.
Game two proved to be a different story as the Crimson attacked the ball very well. The Crimson never trailed and took game two 30-18 from the Eagles.
In game three, BC reclaimed control of the match. The Eagles gained an early 10-6 lead off of a Niemczewska kill. The sophomore committed only five errors on 40 attempts for an impressive attacking percentage of .350. BC never looked back as they dominated game three and won 30-16.
The Eagles never lost control as they won the final game 30-22. Sophomore Alison Shepp had a solid performance for the Eagles with 14 kills and two block solos. Shardai Davis also had a strong impact on the Eagle offense in game four. The sophomore recorded four kills on seven attempts and added two blocks in the final game of the match.
BC also earned its first RichKern.com/AVCA Division I Regional Ranking of the season today. The Eagles are currently ranked 15th in the northeast region. The RichKern.com/AVCA Division I Region Ranking takes into consideration the Rich Kern Percentage Index (RKPI) of all Division I teams, then ranks each region based on the overall ranking.
BC (12-7) will play its first BIG EAST match of the season on Saturday, October 9 as the Eagles host Georgetown at 2 p.m.
