Buffalo, N.Y. - Freshman outside hitter Allison Anderson (Moraga, CA) took the court by storm in the final match in western New York, leading the team with 14 kills over three games against Niagra (0-4). Anderson also contributed on defense with 10 digs as Boston College finished the weekend with a record of 3-1.
Junior captain Verena Rost (Houston, TX) was a big contributor for the final match of the Western New York Tournament. Rost had nine assists Saturday night (six serve assists, 3 block assists).
The Eagles held Niagra to 25 kills in three games. Coach Andrea Leonard opened her inaugural season at BC winning three of four with her young squad. The freshmen have been showing that although inexperienced, they will be major benefactors as the team moves into conference play.
Boston College will return to the court on Friday, September 5 at 5 p.m. against Hartford at Holy Cross.
