CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Women's ice hockey (3-2-0) had a scoreless afternoon Sunday against Yale (2-3-0) in the second tilt of the weekend.
The Bulldogs made an immediate attack on the Eagles, getting a tremendous amount of shots on BC goalie Lisa Davis. Immediately attacking, the Bulldogs netted the first goal just over three minutes in. The second goal came shortly after the 15 minute mark, and the Eagles were down 2-0. The BC squad was unable to capitalize on a power play opportunity halfway through the first period.
Yale scored the third goal of the afternoon shortly over one minute in the second period. The goal by Deena Caplette landed behind Davis from her left side, and would be the only goal during the period. BC would again have a power play opportunity but the six shots on net did not get a goal.
The fourth goal from Yale came on a power play after both Kerri Sanders and Jessica Tychsen were called for holding and interference. The final goal to close the afternoon was five minutes later at even strength.
The Eagles will return to the ice next Friday when they host the first of two games against Maine. Game one will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, game two at 3 p.m. on Saturday on Kelley Rink.
