Women's Ice Hockey Falls to Northeastern, 5-0

BOSTON - The Boston College women's ice hockey team fell to Hockey East foe Northeastern, 5-0, at Matthews Arena Wednesday night behind four first period goals from the host Huskies.
The Eagles' record drops to 3-7-0 overall and 0-5-0 in Hockey East while Northeastern improves to 7-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play.
Northeastern wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as the Huskies tallied three goals in the first eight minutes of play. Cyndy Kenyon tallied the first of her two goals on the night deflecting a slap shot past Eagles goalkeeper Lisa Davis at 2:25 of the first period. Lori DiGiacomo scored four minutes later to give NU a 2-0 lead at the 6:43 mark. Amy Goodney would light-up the scoreboard less than two minutes after that to give Northeastern a 3-0 cushion.
Marie Desrosiers wrapped up the first period scoring for the Huskies at the 15:15 mark.
The Eagles came out firing taking 15 of their 20 shots on the night in the second period. BC outshot the Huskies 15-2, but could not slip one by Husky goalie Katy Augustyn. Northeastern would score on one of the shots that period as Kenyon picked up her second goal of the game.
The Huskies outshot the Eagles, 23-20, for the game. Boston College went 0-for-6 on the power play, while Northeastern was 0-for-2 with a man-advantage.
Davis made 18 saves on the night for the Eagles.
Boston College is back in action this Sunday when they travel to Princeton, N.J. to face the Tigers. Game time is at 1 p.m.
