Volleyball Trounces Quinnipiac

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College (14-5) dominated over Quinnipiac University (3-14) in a 3-0 win Wednesday night.
The Eagles took the first match in a quick fashion, holding QU's attack to .131 and closing game one 30-20. Game two came in similar fashion, with another deep score of 30-20. The third game gave BC a little trouble. The Bobcats took the board first, and were up several times throughout the tilt. In the closing points, the Eagles took back the court and came up to finish 30-25. BC hit .282 and held QU's attack to .131.
Shardai Davis had an outstanding night for the Eagles. The freshman outside hitter played a key role, along with Katie Andersen, on offense. Davis had 11 kills, her career high at BC. Her three service aces contributed to the point scoring and she hit .368 overall. Andersen's 14 kills led the team.
Liz Aron had two service aces from the serving line, making five kills to hit .400 for the night. The Eagles combined to make 15 service aces, currently twelfth in the nation (167 aces).
Five Eagles made block solos from the front of the net. Kristin Kenney had seven defensive digs, making a big impact as the libero on the court. BC only had three block errors on the night, and 19 attack errors.
Jackie Gallo led Quinnipiac's offense with nine kills. The Bobcats had two block solos and two block assists on the Eagles, both assists made in game three.
The Eagles will return to Power Gym on Friday when they host Providence College. BC will face the Friars at 7:30 p.m.
