CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Coming off a thrilling overtime victory over Yale Friday afternoon, the Boston College women's hockey team (7-6-2) dropped a 4-1 decision to Princeton University (9-4-2) Saturday evening at Kelley Rink. Freshman Kristin Blundo scored the lone goal for the Eagles.
Princeton dominated play for the majority of the game, throwing 32 shots on goal. In her first game returning from injury, BC goalie Lisa Davis performed well, stopping 28 Princeton opportunities. The Tigers scored two goals in each of the first two periods. Gretchen Anderson and Susan Hobson broke the goal line for Princeton, while teammate Andrea Kilbourne led the attack with two tallies and one assist.
Boston College tried to come back in the third period, but Blundo's goal off a pass from Alaina Clark would not be enough. Clark earned a point for the assist, extending her point-scoring streak to four games.
The Eagles will play their fourth consecutive home game at Kelley Rink on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. against Brown University before traveling to Orono, Maine for two matches with the Blackbears on the weekend.
