Softball Drops 9-0 Decision To Sun Devils

TEMPE, Ariz. - For the second night in a row, Boston College dropped a 9-0 softball decision in five innings to No. 8 Arizona State at Farrington Stadium.
After a scoreless first inning for both teams, Arizona State posted one run in the bottom of the second when Jennifer Forner singled in Amber Turner.
ASU tacked on three more runs in the third innings, then added the decisive five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Kim Ryan started for the Eagles, going three innings and allowing just two hits and three earned runs. She struck out three while walking six. Michelle Daly relieved her in the fourth and gave up five runs on five its. Erica Beach earned the win for the second time in as many nights. She went four innings, allowing two hits and striking out three. Kristen Swetel entered in the fifth and gave up one hit.
With the loss, BC fell to 3-9 on the season, while ASU improved to 18-4. The two teams meet for the final time on Sunday in a 1 p.m. MT (3 p.m. EST) game.
