Volleyball Loses to Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Boston College volleyball team (13-16, 2-8 BIG EAST) lost, 3-0, to Georgetown University (15-12, 5-5 BIG EAST) on Friday evening in Washington, D.C. The Eagles have had difficulty winning against conference foes and fall to 2-8 in BIG EAST competitions with today's loss.
Boston College struggled throughout and could not best the Hoyas. Georgetown took the three-game match by scores of 30-19, 30-18 and 30-24.
The Eagles had trouble offensively, and registered a negative hitting percentage overall. Lauren Schwer gathered four kills for a .286 hitting percentage despite the team's poor hitting performance.
Hoya Lauren Wagner dominated the match, recording 17 kills for a .438 hitting percentage. Georgetown also topped Boston College, with 10 total blocks to the Eagles' five.
The Eagles travel to Villanova, Pa. for another BIG EAST contest against the Wildcats on Sunday, Nov. 10. They will return to Power Gymnasium in Chestnut Hill on Friday, Nov. 15 for their senior night celebration which will take place before a match against Connecticut.
