Volleyball Winless in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Without starting outside hitter, Katie Andersen, the Boston College volleyball team (12-14, 2-6 BIG EAST) could not withstand the Syracuse Orangewomen (18-9, 4-5 BIG EAST), Friday night in Syracuse, N.Y. The Eagles lost the match in three games, by scores of 30-21, 30-19 and 30-23.
Sophomore setter Jessica Brizzolara played well for the Eagles, amassing 31 assists in the match. She also had six hits and six digs.
Boston College lost Andersen, a sophomore, to an injury during practice before the road trip. Andersen has led the Eagles this season, starting each contest, and compiling 13 kill-dig double-doubles in those 25 starts.
The Orangewomen hit well as a unit, with a .348 hitting percentage. They were led by Kristen Conway, who had 20 kills and only three errors.
The Eagles remain on the road, and travel to South Bend, Ind. for a match against Notre Dame on Sunday, Nov. 3.
