Volleyball Sweeps Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Boston College volleyball team posted its second consecutive win Wednesday night in Hamden, Conn., besting Quinnipiac University, three games to none by scores of 30-21, 30-10 and 30-19. With the win, the Eagles improve to 10-11 on the season. The Bobcats fell to 7-9 overall.
Boston College was led by the stellar play of senior Rachel Bach, who posted a game-high 26 kills and a .525 hitting percentage on the night. Sophomore Katie Andersen added 11 kills and eight digs and two service aces. Classmate Jessica Brizzolara led the team with 49 assists. Senior Lauren Schwer recorded 11 digs and a .500 hitting percentage.
Quinnipiac senior Heather Wollyung led the Bobcats with 11 kills and three blocks, but struggled during the night, finishing with a .125 hitting percentage. Senior Heather Grutta added nine kills, nine digs, two service aces and a block, while classmate Alyssa Shatzel registered four total blocks.
The Eagles travel to Providence, R.I. for a BIG EAST Conference match against the Providence College Friars on Friday, Oct. 18.
