Volleyball Victorious Over West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W.V. - The Boston College women's volleyball team (9-11, 1-3) defeated the Mountaineers (7-13, 2-4) of West Virginia University, 3-0 this afternoon in Morgantown, W.V. For the Eagles, the win marks their first over a BIG EAST Conference opponent this season.
Boston College defeated the Mountaineers handily, winning three straight games by scores of 30-28, 30-26 and 30-18. The Eagles played confidently, remaining calm and composed for the entirety of the match. The Eagles dominated the match, keeping control of their lead, increasing it steadily throughout.
Sophomore setter Jessica Brizzolara had 34 assists for the second time in two matches. She also nailed two service aces. Captain Kim Carlson contributed two additional service aces while hitting .250. Rachel Bach led the team offensively with 13 kills. The Eagles thwarted the Mountaineer attack, with seven total blocks and four players recording double-figure digs.
Stephanie Zolna led the Mountaineers with a kill-dig double-double.
Boston College travels to Hamden, Ct. on Wednesday, Oct. 16 to play Quinnipiac University. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
